Instructor In Training Rachael Shaw
I was introduced to the art of Muay Thai in 1993 by my good friend Sarah. At the age of 20 I attended my first class and new experience. I began training regular and my fascination and hunger grew to learn more.
Although, I did briefly compete in the early years of training, I chose not to fight and to instead be dedicated to my training and pursuing the knowledge of teaching. I took a little time out to raise my two girls when they were babies and they also often attend training classes too.
I’ve always enjoyed keeping fit and I have found Muay Thai is one of the most effective form of keep fit with the great advantage of learning self defence techniques. Over the years I have gained hugely in a variety of ways for example: It’s enjoyable and fun, healthy, promotes mental and physical wellbeing, self belief, self-confidence, self-discipline, builds stamina, flexibility, promotes teamwork good moral and values are just to name a few. Even after's year of training I believe Muay Thai is an art where learning never ends.
My aim is to empower other ladies to take an interest in the art of Muay Thai and to share the knowledge, skills and experiences my instructors have taught me.
